Cruising is a marvelous experience for everyone who loves travelling, I’m sure we can all agree to that, but one more thing that is incredible about it is also the flavor of the signature drinks that cruise lines have been preparing for us for decades. Who wouldn’t want to be on an exterior deck right now, sipping their favourite cruise cocktail while looking over at the sea? Well, I would! We might not be able to cruise right now, but what we can do is organize a cruise party night at our homes! How? By playing the cruise music in the background, maybe watch some cruise tour videos on youtube, dressing up, but most importantly -> preparing the delicious, signature cruise drinks from the recipes I’m about to share with you! MSC Disarita – Msc Cruises

One of the most unique yet classical drinks you will be able to taste on Msc Cruises is the famous Disarita. The combination of this amaretto-tasting Italian liquor with the flavors of Mexico, serves a rustic twist to the usual, plain margarita.

Ingredients:

  • 2 oz. Disaronno Originale
  • 1 oz. tequila of choice
  • 2 oz. lemon margarita mix
  • 1 lime wheel

Directions:

  • Salt rim of margarita glass and set aside
  • Fill separate mixing glass with ice
  • Add Disaronno, tequila and lemon margarita mix to mixing glass
  • Shake contents
  • Strain into margarita glass
  • Garnish with lime wheel

An alternative to the previous margarita with a twist could be another elegant version of it, this time with flavors inspired by the marvelous country of France.

  • 1/2 oz Patron Anejo
  • 3/4 oz Cointreau
  • 1/2 oz Grand Marnier
  • Margarita Mix

Directions:

  • Mix Patron Anejo, Cointreau and the margarita mix

Margarita Azul Pilsner – Royal Caribbean

For those who love the Blue curacao, this version of margarita will literally blow your mind. I would have to say it’s my personal choice amongst them all, but you’re more than welcome to try all of them and decide which one will be your fav.

Ingredients:

  • 1 oz House tequila
  • 1/2 oz Triple sec
  • 1/2 oz Blue curacao
  • 2 oz Margarita Mix
  • 2 oz Sprite
  • Lemon wedge / Half Salt Rim

Directions:

  • Mix the house tequila, triple sec, blue curacao and margarita mix together
  • Shake all the contents
  • Strain over fresh ice filled pilsner glass
  • Top with Sprite
  • Garnish with a half salt rim & a lemon wedge

Tequila Sunrise – Msc Cruises

One of the most popular cruise drinks might be the Tequila Sunrise – called like that because of the colors blending with each other, reminding us of a sunrise (or a sunset). Not so sweet, the Tequila Sunrise is a perfect drink for more savory drinkers.

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 oz House Tequila
  • Orange Juice
  • 1/2 oz Grenadine

Directions:

  • In a highball glass filled with ice cubes, pour the tequila and orange juice
  • Stir well
  • Slowly pour the grenadine around the inside edge of the glass. It will sink and gradually rise to mix with the other ingredients
  • Garnish with an orange slice and cherry

Ultimate Mai Tai – Royal Caribbean

The signature Mai Tai couldn’t be missed in this collection of cruise drinks recipes, especially since it’s one of my personal favorites of all time. With it tropical taste, it will bring any cruise-at-home party to the next level.

Ingredients:

  • 3/4 oz Pyrat XO Rum
  • 1/2 oz Amaretto Disaronno
  • 1 oz Orange Juice
  • 1 oz Pineapple Juice
  • 1 oz Sweet & Sour
  • 1/2 oz Grenadine
  • 3/4 oz Myer’s Rum

Directions:

  • Mix Pyrat XO Rum, Disaronno, orange juice, pineapple juice, sweet & sour, as well as grenadine together
  • Shake all of the contents until the drink looks uniform
  • Strain and pour over fresh ice
  • Float Myer’s Rum

  • 3/4 oz House Gold Tequila
  • 1/4 oz Peach Schnapps
  • 1/4 oz Banana Liqueur
  • 1/4 oz Blue Curacao
  • 3 oz Pineapple Juice
  • 1/4 oz Sugar Syrup

Cosmopolitan – Msc Cruises

If anybody ever asks what’s my favourite drink of all times – I will have to say Cosmopolitan – without a doubt (although I might sometimes be caught cheating on it with Kir Royal). The ultimate mixture of sweetness and sourness in this drink makes it elegant, feminine and extremely tasty.

Ingredients:

  • 2oz Grey Goose Vodka
  • 1/2 oz Cointreau
  • 1/2 oz Cranberry Juice
  • 1 Lime Wedge Squeezed
  • Lime Twist

Directions:

  • Mix all of the ingredients together
  • Shake the contents until the drink becomes uniform
  • Strain
  • Garnish the glass with a lime slice and sugar on the edges

Melon Mojito Cosmo – Royal Caribbean

For someone who enjoys Cosmopolitan in its original version so much, I am incredibly magnetized by the thought of sipping the hybrid of mojito and cosmopolitan in one. Midori has been one of my best liquors for long (I remember sometime in my life when I was only choosing cocktails with Midori in them), and the choice of the other ingredients in this drink makes me want to pack my bags and go on a Royal Caribbean cruise right now! If only I could… I guess I will have to remake it myself on my cruise at home evening very soon!

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/4 oz White Rum
  • 3/4 oz Midori
  • 1 oz Mojito Syrup
  • 4 oz Soda
  • Mint & Lime

Directions:

  • Squash the mint and lime together
  • Add white rum, Midori and Mojito Syrup to it
  • Stir through
  • Top with soda

Caribbean Sling Cosmo – Royal Caribbean

If you thought I was done with the cosmopolitans – that’s the proof I wasn’t. But I promise it’s the last one! This version of my favourite cocktail reminds me of the Caribbean islands I was supposed to be on right now… One more destination to imagine being on on my cruise at home night. I’m curious which destination would you imagine to be at yourself? Well, we can talk about it later. Here’s the recipe.

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/4 oz Spice Rum
  • 3/4 oz Blackberry Brandy
  • 1/2 oz Simple Syrup
  • 3 oz Pineapple Juice
  • 1 oz Orange Juice
  • Pineapple Wedge

Directions:

  • Mix the spice rum, blackberry brandy, simple syrup, pineapple juice & orange juice together
  • Shake all the ingredients

Let’s stay in the Caribbean waters for a moment. The Caribbean Cooler might sound like a light drink, but it’s actually powerful. This refreshing drink will make you feel like you’re on the beach – shameful to say I’m actually sipping one right now! But can you blame me…?

Ingredients:

  • 1 oz Grey Goose
  • 1/2 oz Peach Schnapps
  • 3 1/2 oz Orange Juice
  • 1/2 oz Grenadine
  • Top with Sprite
  • Pineapple

Directions:

  • Mix Grey Goose, Peach Schnapps, Orange Juice & Grenadine together

Just the name of this cocktail makes me want to explore another port of destination. However, since we are organizing a cruise from home evening, it might be a little difficult to actually wander around – what I can assure you of is that this cocktail will make you feel as if you actually were, wanderlusting around the greatest cruising destinations you can imagine.

Ingredients:

  • 1oz House White Rum
  • 1/2 oz Malibu
  • 1/2 oz Peach Schnapps
  • 1/2 oz Simple Syrup
  • 3 oz Pineapple Juice
  • 1 oz Cranberry
  • Slice of Pineapple
  • Cherry

Directions:

  • Mix the white rum, malibu, peach schnapps, simple syrup & pineapple juice together
  • Shake until it looks uniform
  • Strain over fresh ice

Coco Loco – Royal Caribbean

The real tropical atmosphere though can be created with the help of the tasty Coco Loco cocktail inspired by the Royal Caribbean’s private island – Coco Cay. If you haven’t tried it yet, you’re missing out. Maybe your next cruise from home night could be tropics-based…?

Ingredients:

  • 0.75 oz. dark rum
  • 0.75 oz. coconut rum
  • 0.5 oz. orange juice concentrate
  • 0.5 oz. pineapple juice concentrate
  • 0.5 oz. papaya juice concentrate
  • 0.5 oz. coconut cream
  • 0.25 oz. grenadine
  • Pineapple wedge garnish

Directions:

  • Add ingredients, along with a half-cup of crushed ice, into a blender.
  • Blend until smooth.
  • Pour mixture into cocktail glass.
  • Garnish with pineapple wedge.

Legend Reviver – Norwegian Cruise Line

A delicious pre-dinner drink everyone? Actually, I don’t know why we should limit ourselves to that. The Legend Reviver is a great, refreshing drink that might even act like an aphrodisiac for some… Great for drinking in good company.

Ingredients:

  • 2 oz. Bacardi 8 Anos
  • 0.75 oz. star anise-infused sweet vermouth
  • 0.25 oz. caramel/cinnamon syrup
  • 3 drops of Fee Brothers whiskey barrel-aged bitters
  • Mist of absinthe
  • Lemon peel and star anise garnish

Directions:

  • Mist serving glass with absinthe and set aside
  • Add Bacardi, vermouth, syrup and bitters into a mixing glass
  • Add ice to the mixing glass until it is about 3/4 full
  • Stir until all the liquid touches the ice
  • Strain liquid into a serving glass
  • Garnish with lemon peel and star anise

The Isaac – Princess Cruises

If you’ve ever tasted this drink on a Princess Cruise, you can proudly call yourself a frequent cruiser. Not everybody will get this chance – why? Because The Isaac is not listed on the menu – but you will be able to get it in every bar on the Princess Cruise Line, which gives it a little mystery to garnish it with. Will you dare try it?

Ingredients:

  • 2 oz. white rum of choice
  • 2 oz. pomegranate syrup
  • 0.5 oz. lime juice
  • Splash of club soda
  • 2 pineapple leaf spears and cherry garnish

Directions:

  • Fill highball glass with two-thirds ice
  • Add ice, rum, syrup and lime juice into a cocktail shaker
  • Shake and strain into glass, filling to the top of the ice
  • Top off with club soda
  • Garnish with pineapple spears and cherry

After surrounding ourselves with a little mystery of the previous drink, it’s only wise to travel from home all the way to Singapore. The Royal Singapore Sling is a cocktail that won’t be easily forgotten – so make sure to prepare for lots of it as you buy the necessary products.

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 oz Aviation Gin
  • 1/2 oz Blackberry Brandy
  • 1/2 oz Grenadine
  • 2oz Sweet & Sour
  • Soda Water

Directions:

  • Mix the Aviation Gin, Blackberry Brandy & Sweet&Sour together
  • Shake until it becomes uniform
  • Strain over fresh ice

Since we’re already in the mood for gin, we might as well try out the different varieties of the Royal Caribbean’s signature Collins’ twists. The simple Tom Collins should do the job of getting the cruise from home party started in the minimalistic way, but it will also be a great pre-dinner option.

Ingredients:

  • 1 oz House Gin
  • 2 1/2 oz Sweet & Sour
  • Soda Water

Directions:

  • Mix the house gin with the sweet&sour mixture
  • Shake until frothy
  • Strain over fresh ice
  • Top with soda

Raspberry Collins – Royal Caribbean

Another alternative to the Collins is the one with the raspberry twist. Definitely a sweeter version of its predecessor, I personally think it’s quite a great cocktail to try out at least once.

Ingredients:

  • 2 oz New Amsterdam Gin
  • 3/4 oz Raspberry Mix
  • 1 1/2 oz Sweet & Sour
  • Soda Water

Directions:

  • Mix the New Amsterdam Gin, Raspberry Mix & the Sweet&Sour together.
  • Shake until uniform
  • Strain over fresh ice
  • Top with soda.

Captain Collins – Royal Caribbean

The last, but not least version of the amazing Collins is the elegant Captain that on a normal day would be served on board of the Royal Caribbean cruise line. But why shouldn’t we replicate it at our cruise from home party? The answer is, we should. So here’s there recipe.

Ingredients:

  • 2 oz House gin
  • 1 1/2 oz Sour mix
  • 1/2 oz Simple syrup
  • 4 oz Soda
  • Lemon & Cherry

Directions:

  • Shake Gin with sour mix
  • Strain over fresh ice
  • Finish with soda

Simple as that! No need for a Captain to navigate these waters 😉

Rebellious Fish – Norwegian Cruise Line

The Rebellious Fish doesn’t attribute its name to being fishy – but rather to being served in a fishbowl. Meant to be a giant drink, it doesn’t necessarily mean that it lacks alcohol. The vodka, fruit liquor, triple sec and Prosecco in one… never tasted that good before! I would even dare to call it one of the TOP 3 of the cruise from home drink menu.

Ingredients:

  • 0.75 oz. Passoa passion fruit liqueur
  • 0.75 oz. Russian Standard vodka
  • 0.25 oz. triple sec
  • 2 oz. prosecco
  • 2 oz. Orange juice
  • Fresh berries (garnish)

Directions:

  • Combine passionfruit liqueur, vodka, triple sec and orange juice in a mixing glass
  • Shake contents
  • Pour mixture into glass, over ice
  • Pour prosecco (sparkling wine) through strainer into 12 oz. serving glass, over ice
  • Float berries on top

Royal Lemonade – Royal Caribbean

There’s nothing as good as lemonade when we need some refreshment. But what happens when we add vodka to it…? Magic. Magic happens!

Ingredients:

  • 2 oz House Vodka
  • 2 oz Lemonade mix
  • 4 oz Sprite
  • Lemon wedge

Directions:

  • Build ingredients in a glass over fresh ice

Woo Woo is for these days when we want to add a little craziness to the usual routine… or step out of the routine at all, for a moment. Easy to prepare, the Woo Woo will definitely woo your night (or aperitif). 😉

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/4 oz House Vodka
  • 3/4 oz Peach Schnapps
  • 1 oz Sour mix
  • 4 oz Cranberry Juice
  • Lime Wedge

Directions:

  • Build all ingredients in a glass over fresh ice
